Lonnie and Clara Neely have been ADS customers for more than 20 years. That they have been customers for so long is impressive in itself, but what’s even more remarkable is that they became customers when they were in their 80s.
That’s right…Lonnie and Clara are each over 100 years old! He’s 103 and she’s 102. They became ADS customers in 1998 after a break in at their home. “It was on a Monday, during the daytime,” Clara recalled.
That’s when the Neelys decided they needed a security system and turned to ADS.
“Yes, we’ve been with ADS a pretty long time!” she said. “I have no complaints. I enjoy talking to the people there whenever I come by to pay my bill. Being with y’all, every time I call, you come by.”
The couple, married since 1937, is well known in their community of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They have been profiled in numerous local newspaper articles for their longevity. Most recently, they were featured in the local paper when they voted absentee for the first time in the 2020 election. Because of the couple’s age, police escorted them into the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, where they were able to avoid long lines in order to register for their absentee ballots.
Lonnie and Clara were selected to be profiled as part of ADS Security’s Customer Delight & Surprise program, a customer appreciation effort that allows employees to nominate noteworthy customer relationships.
