ADS Security Relocates Nashville Corporate Office

Nashville, TN – ADS Security, L.P., the 21st largest electronic security company in the nation, has relocated its Nashville corporate headquarters to an 18,000 square foot building at 3001 Armory Drive in a move that anticipates continued growth. The new corporate office space, which is leased from H.G. Hill Realty Company LLC, is approximately eighty percent (80%) larger than the companyʼs location for the past eight years at 701 Bradford Avenue. The move to Armory Drive, which cost approximately $2.2 million, involved the build-out of the facility and the installation of all new hardware, software, and emergency backup systems technology for the ADS Security Central Station that monitors approximately 60,000 commercial and residential accounts in 18 states and is the only non-proprietary Central Station monitoring operation in middle Tennessee that is listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

“One of the reasons that ADS Security has been so successful is because it continually plans for the future through investment in the best available technology and through employing the most knowledgeable people in the industry,” said Mel Mahler, president and CEO of ADS Security.
The Armory Drive office is the third location for the company since it was established in 1989. All three of the locations have been in the Berry Hill/100 Oaks area of Nashville. The companyʼs first office at 700 Inverness Avenue had approximately 5,000 square feet and served the company for nine years. In 1998, ADS Security moved into a 10,000 square foot building on Bradford Avenue.
“Our new corporate office on Armory Drive gives us ʻroom to growʼ,” said Mahler. “We have signed a 10 year lease on the space. The new location also gives us increased visibility and more convenient access to all interstates and I-440, important considerations as we add office locations in the southeast region and expand our customer base.” ADS Security currently has 13 offices in four southeastern states.
ADS Securityʼs Central Station operation is located near the center of the companyʼs new office and features 18-inch poured concrete walls, redundant power and connectivity systems, backbone internet connectivity, the latest hardware and software systems, and diverse communication loops. The entire operation is manned by operators 24×7. Every ADS Security Central Station operator has earned the Five Diamond Central Station Certificate, the highest training certification available in the industry. There is also 24×7 video surveillance and immediate alarm on all equipment throughout the building.
“We ran more than 14 miles of wiring in the new building to facilitate all ADS Security operations,” said Lela Mullins, senior vice president of monitoring operations. “The installation also required more than 600 man hours to install the network for the computers and telephone system, the fully integrated access control, closed circuit television system, and burglar and fire systems.”
Mullins pointed out that interior layout and design of the new location were created by the middle management team and approved by the senior staff. The interior layout was designed for efficiency, with thought given to workflow and communication between various departments. In addition to the Board Room, there are several other smaller conference rooms positioned throughout the space. The interior was also designed so that as the company grows, there is room to expand within each department. A large window in the reception area provides a view of the Central Station operation, a reminder that Central Station is at the heart of the companyʼs service. Energy-saving lighting illuminates the office interior; the brightness is enhanced by several frosted and etched glass wall panels. D.F. Chase was the general contractor on the build-out of the space. ve Prepares Company for Continued Growth
